What are ORPs?

1. What are ORPs when Referring to Ionized Water? The element in water that works for or against good health, in addition to the pH of the water which should be between 7.5 and 10.0, is known as ORP or Oxygen Reduction Potential . There are two types of ORP — negative ORP and positive ORP. Positive ORP increases oxidation (not wanted in the body) and can lead to free radicals damage to cells. Free radicals, as you may read about, lead to degenerative diseases and other health issues. 2. What has Positive ORP? Positive ORP is found in tap water, bottled waters, distilled and reverse osmosis waters as well as cooked and processed foods. Simply put, there is no antioxidant capacity to help the body to neutralize acidity or prevent free radical and oxidative damage to our cells in these types of waters.  They have ZERO nutritional value to you other than helping hydrate the body.  They do not do what water really suppose to do for the body. 3. What are Negat

What are Antioxidants?

Antioxidants are substances or nutrients in our foods which can prevent or slow the oxidative damage to our body. When our body cells use oxygen, they naturally produce free radicals (by-products) which can cause damage.  Antioxidants act as hunter seekers of free radicals and destroy or inhibit them.  Hence, preventing and repairing damage done by these free radicals. Many health problems such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, macular degeneration, etc are all contributed to by oxidative damage. You may see that antioxidants are promoted quite often in different media; tv, radio, magazine ads, etc.  Foods rich in antioxidants are very sought after. One of the main reasons alkaline ionized water is so critical to health these days, is that it contains high levels of antioxidants that hunt down the “bad” stuff in your system, and help restore health, or may help prevent further damage by free radicals.

Alkalinity effects on our body

1.  What are people really talking about when they talk about body PH, or alkalinity vs. acidic effects on the body? The scale that is used for measuring the pH, or hydrogen ion concentration … is from 0 to 14, with 7 being the neutral point.  Below 7 is acidic; above 7 is alkaline. The optimal ph of the body’s fluids, such as the blood is 7.4, slightly alkaline. If deviated from this range … the body activity is no longer optimal and the metabolism is out of balance as the body will begin to store toxins in fat and move around acidic material to keep the blood PH in balance. The pH of the body is largely influenced by metabolic byproducts and our diet. Thus, pH is directly affected by the various categories of food that we eat and the internal mechanisms involved in their processing.  Some foods that are acid in their composition can become alkalizing following metabolizing by the body, such as lemons.  Accordingly, it is to become more aware of the impact that various foods
