What are ORPs?
1. What
are ORPs when Referring to Ionized Water?
The element in water that works for or
against good health, in addition to the pH of the water which should be between
7.5 and 10.0, is known as ORP or Oxygen
Reduction Potential. There are two types of ORP — negative ORP and positive
ORP.
Positive ORP increases oxidation (not
wanted in the body) and can lead to free radicals damage to cells. Free
radicals, as you may read about, lead to degenerative diseases and other health
issues.
2. What
has Positive ORP?
Positive ORP is found in tap water, bottled
waters, distilled and reverse osmosis waters as well as cooked and processed
foods. Simply put, there is no antioxidant capacity to help the body to
neutralize acidity or prevent free radical and oxidative damage to our cells in
these types of waters. They have ZERO
nutritional value to you other than helping hydrate the body. They do not do what water really suppose to
do for the body.
3. What
are Negative ORP Benefits?
Negative ORP, however, which is produced
with ionized alkaline water, severely retards
the aging process by counteracting oxidative damage to our cells. It does this by hunting down free radicals in
our system and neutralizing them. Negative
ORP is a very powerful anti-oxidant. and it is found naturally in orange
juice, glacial runoff and deep underground uncontaminated spring water.
